    Military Commanders and Plastic Surgery.

Military Commanders have a job to do which is critical for them to accomplish the mission they have been given in their command. So unless your time off for recovery interferes with that mission most will have no problem with your desire.

In fact we at MilitaryPlasticSurgery.com have many examples where the commander suggested to a troop that he or she undergo a procedure to meet the standards. As example, liposuction to reduce the waist line may in many cases take those inches off to pass the tape test.

Its a godsend for a commander who would otherwise lose the troop he depends on who may otherwise fail the tape test. After the liposuction procedure the sailor, soldier or marine can then pass the tape test and remain in the unit or possibly be promoted.

We advise all military personnel to check at least with their primary care doctor or PA to get approval first.

    The dreaded tape test

The tape test is taken by soldiers when the body fat percentage is in question. As many of you know the tape measurement is taken around the neck and around the waist, wrist and hips. These measurements are used to calculate the body fat percentage and determine if you meet the standards. A military member who does want to meet the requirements will have to reduce some areas and build up others since the ratios are important. A thick neck and small circumference waist line will do the trick.

Liposuction can really help. We have at times taken 2, 3 and even 6 inches off a military members waist thus enabling them to pass the tape test.

It gives us great pleasure to "save" someone's career or "help" with promotion.

This is an example of plastic surgery helping a service member. Its not just for cosmetic reasons but really helps the service member.

Plastic surgery for miltary members can help commanders retain excellent service men and woman they may otherwise lose due to standards.

Military Commanders are concerned about one thing with regards to plastic surgery. They want their troops to be ready for duty and to pass military standards.

If the troop cannot pass the standard due to excess body fat then they may lose the troop. Many times commanders may encourage their military personnel to do what it takes to pass these standards. If Plastic Surgery works such as liposuction of the abdomen to decrease the waist line so be it.

As a former soldier with the 20th special forces group and many medical units, I am well versed in the needs and concerns of our military when it comes to plastic surgery.

The military soldiers and their spouses are such a large part of my plastic surgery practice that I wanted to create a website to answer all the questions the military has in reference to cosmetic surgery as an active duty soldier.
