Military Dependants and Plastic Surgery

The military spouse may want plastic surgery for a variety of reasons. In my practice, we find a a lot of military wives who are young and have babies. They find the army time an excellent time to start their families. This is when they are young and of course the added benefit of the military paying for the cost of child birth.

The problem is that many of these young gals find themselves with stretched skin, rounded bellies and lose the 20 year old figure they had.

So young and the pregnancy takes its toll. So many of these military moms want a mommy maker over. This restores the youthful contour with regards to the abdomen. This oftentimes includes a breast lift procedure as well.

My Husband says exercise!

One interesting fact I have observed is the military husband many times tells the wife to "get in shape". As a soldier or marine for example the husband is geared for exercise and knows that a good fitness regime will solve a rounded belly. Yet what they don't understand is that many times no matter how much exercise the wife does she will not lose the rounded look or the loose skin.

The reason is that skin, once stretched will not get back to its original form. Its like a polyester sweater. Once it loses its shape it will not go back. This is due to lack of elasticity after pregnancy. The same applies to the roundness of the belly. The under lying tissue which holds the muscles stretches and needs to be surgically sewn back together to restore that form.

They have the babies and want to feel like a young gal again. Many come in for the mommy make over while their husband is away. A group of army wives may get together and surprise their husbands with their new figures when they return.

This is an excellent support vehicle when one military spouse will have her procedure and then the friend will have hers. They take care of each others children and help each other out.
